HackerWeb - Hacker News Client Overview
HackerWeb is an unofficial Hacker News client designed for iOS devices, offering a minimalist interface for optimal readability. Reflecting iOS design principles, the app seamlessly integrates with the operating system. Key features include dual tabs for effortless switching between web pages and comments, a user-friendly comments thread interface with smart collapsing, and automatic Dark mode based on system settings. Additionally, it provides smart indentations and code block syntax highlighting in comments, enhancing the reading experience.
Developed with React Native and Expo, HackerWeb supports interactions like upvoting and replying, storing login information within the app. Users can easily navigate comment threads, view parent comments, and share comments as images. This project, initiated in 2012, is an open-source endeavor for experimentation and learning.
